162 SVENSK KIRURGI • VOLYM 75 • NR 3 • 2017 Welcome to NASCE 2017 Lund, 12–13 October European scientific meeting in medical simulation On behalf of the UEMS (Union of European Medical Specialists) I would like to welcome you to the third scientific meeting of the Network of Accredited Clinical Skills Centres in Europe (NASCE). The roots of the NASCE program are in the need to regularize and validate simulation based training. NASCE is supported by no less than 21 sections and boards of the UEMS showing the multidisciplinary nature of accreditation program. The accredited centres form the core of this truly pan European network but the UEMS and NASCE welcome all interested parties to the this scientific meeting. The city of Lund founded more than 1000 years ago, is one of the oldest cities in Scandinavia. This year the University is celebrating its 350th anniversary. Lund is a city of creativity with many high-tech industries and start-ups. Many visitors are attracted by Lund for the combination of the historical surroundings, the University and its city centre with small shops, restaurants and cafés. The venue for the meeting, “Hypoteksvåningen” (www.hypoteket.se ), is situated in a beautiful fin de siècle building in the old part of the city and in convenient walking distance from recommended hotels and from the railway station. The content of the scientific meeting is a mix of free paper sessions based on original research within the area of medical simulation, and key note addresses. There will also be an interesting industry exhi- bition area for simulation companies. We are therefore confident that you will find the meeting of interest.
