BJS Academy Newsletter 13
Newsletter 13: September 2026
Welcome to the BJS Academy Highlights Newsletter.
It has been another busy summer for BJS Academy, with a wide range of new educational content published across the platform. Recent highlights include BJS Lectures exploring surgery in conflict zones and humanitarian crises, collaborative surgical research, endocrine pathology, and the future of medical treatment for vascular patients, alongside new BJS Prize presentations showcasing research from the surgical community.
In August, we were also pleased to hold our latest BJS Academy Virtual Journal Club, in partnership with The Roux Group, bringing together trainees, clinicians and researchers to discuss recent BJS and BJS Open research in Upper GI and HPB Surgery. Our Cutting Edge and Scientific Surgery sections continue to provide commentary and accessible updates on emerging research and issues affecting surgical practice.
We have also opened an invitation for consultants, senior trainees and researchers to become BJS peer reviewers, offering another way for members of our community to contribute to the advancement of high-quality surgical research.
As always, follow us on social media to keep up to date with the latest BJS Academy content, opportunities and events.
Happy reading!
