One Month Until Nominations Close

The BJS Award celebrates excellence in surgical science and recognises a discovery, innovation, or scientific study that has changed clinical practice and improved patient care. As an international accolade, we are keen to ensure broad awareness and engagement across the global surgical community.

During the final month of the nomination window, the key messages we are seeking to highlight are:

  • The global reach of the BJS Award
  • Nominations from all surgical specialties are welcome
  • NEW for 2027: Organisations (including societies, associations, colleges, and professional bodies) may now submit nominations, in addition to individuals

I would be grateful for your support in any of the following areas where possible:

  • Promoting the BJS Award 2027 to your members, ideally through your website (preferably on the homepage)
  • Including the BJS Award 2027 in your newsletters and member communications
  • Sharing content from our social media channels with your networks and engaging where appropriate:
  • Sharing the attached HTML email with your members and, where possible, providing performance analytics (sent, open, and click rates)
  • Advocating for the BJS Award 2027 during your interactions at member events, workshops, and annual meetings
  • Including the BJS Award 2027 holding slide as a closing slide in presentations at meetings and conferences, where relevant
