On the 9th of February 2023, the fourth Webinar of the Section of Surgery in the UEMS will go online, headed by the Working group Abdominal wall Surgery.

This Webinar titled “Incisional hernia prophylaxis – New data and guidelines” will be held by Prof. Dr René Fortelny from Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, moderated by Prof. Dr Ferdinand Köckerling.

Under detta webinar lyfter vi möjligheten att förbättra patientens förutsättningar för en komplikationsfri operation genom prehabilitering. Tiden inför operation skall vara en förberedelsetid och inte en väntetid,särskilt gäller detta den sköra, sårbara och äldre patienten inför operation.

ERAS, Enhanced Recovery After Surgery, är ett framgångsrikt initiativ för global kirurgisk kvalitetsförbättring. En uppdaterad beskrivning av bästa möjliga kirurgiska vård och beskrivning av var prehabilitering kommer in i sitt sammanhang.
